Ryan Kruger’s short film “Fried Barry” unexpectedly ignited the film festival in 2017. When the chance came to make a feature film version of the short, he had a handful of stories he knew might work with this great character. However, finding the right mix proved to be a unique challenge for someone coming from the music video world. The feature, also called “Fried Barry,” recently shocked everyone on Shudder’s Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs. In this episode, he chats about how making the original short was so freeing, how he developed the story into a feature, working with an interesting yet unproven actor, and much more!

PATREON EXCLUSIVE: Ryan discusses knowing the audience for your film and who you’re writing it for. Watch it and all our exclusive videos for as low as $1 a month!
