I like to do a follow-up on stories we’ve already done at CinemATL, it proves our instincts were true in discovering a local filmmaker who had the mettle to bring their project to fruition.
I especially like the one I’m doing now because of how determined the filmmaker involved has been at getting his work completed and at such a high production value.
We originally did a story on Blood Ties quite some time back (link to it below to refresh your memory with Nathan Flood's piece) and now it’s just about time for the film to be released from Afterlight Pictures on February 15th (take a look at the trailer here).
Blood Ties is the first feature from Kely McClung, produced by Media Arts InterantionalFilm Corporation and My Thai Film, Executive Producer Robert Pralgo,
Since its completion is has won awards around the world. Some of the awards include "Action Film of the Year" (Action On Film International Film Festival), "Best of Festival," & "Best Visual Effects" (Indie Fest USA), "Best Director" (Big Bang Film Festival), "Best International Film (Rincon International Film Festival) as well as "Best International Feature Film" (End Of The Pier International Film Festival UK).
All that with a crew of two in most cases shot in Atlanta , Washington D.C. , and Thailand among other locations.
So, definitely be on the lookout for Blood Ties on DVD February 15th!
